Megger SKF AWA IV -12kV Static Motor Analyzer
The Baker AWA-IV static motor analyzer completely evaluates the robustness of a motor’s insulation and circuit by running repeatable, user-programmable tests automatically. As a matter of fact, it is the only high voltage test device that can be configured to carry out a particular set of insulation tests before being used in the field. Prior to being put into operation, the AWA-IV is also used to ensure the quality of newly produced motors or motor rebuilds.
With its user-friendly touch screen interface, the Baker AWA-IV is an easy-to-use test tool. Regardless of an operator’s skill level, it produces precise, repeatable outcomes. By carrying out a thorough series of both high- and low-voltage tests, it can quickly identify issues that low voltage testers are unable to identify. The findings are displayed in straightforward, understandable reports and graphs, providing motor maintenance specialists with the knowledge they need to save expenses and unscheduled downtime. By doing the same tests on a particular motor over an extended period of time, it is possible to analyze trends and see how the insulation deteriorates over time. This enables maintenance specialists to forecast when a motor might break and schedule its replacement appropriately.
Compared to similar manually operated devices, the AWA-IV has benefits in waveform monitoring and computer control. The tests are carried out, the results are stored, and the voltage levels are continuously monitored by the embedded computer of the analyzer. The test is stopped, the operator is notified, and all test parameters are recorded at the moment of the interruption if the analyzer finds a weakness in the insulation during the test.
- Range includes 2 kV, 4 kV, 6 kV, and 12 kV models
- Surge, winding resistance, Megohm, PI, DA, continuous ramp DC step-voltage, and DC hi-pot tests are among the testing capabilities.
- The 12 kV HO (high-output) variant is designed for conducting surge testing on more substantial motors and generators.
- It is compatible with Baker PPX Power Packs, which allow for an expansion of the voltage range for insulation testing (only available in 6 kV, 12 kV, and 12 kV HO variants).
- IEEE- and IEC-compliant surge test
- Comparison of surge waveforms using the Pulse-to-Pulse Error Area Ratio (PP-EAR) approach, which just received a patent.
- Incorporates sophisticated capabilities for evaluating inter-turns into a field-portable instrument
- The operating system for embedded devices is Microsoft Windows 10.
- USB port for the purpose of transferring data and printing with plug-and-play printers compatible with Windows 10
