ZipChipTM prepares, separates, and electrosprays biological samples straight into conventional mass spectrometers (MS) using integrated microfluidic technology. Cost-effective ZipChips evaluate a wide range of matrices, including growth media, cell lysates, blood, plasma, urine, and biopharma products, with little to no sample preparation. ZipChip provides information on a wide range of analytes, including complete proteins, small compounds, peptides, antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates.

ZipChip separations, in contrast to liquid chromatography, are intrinsically nano. This implies that speed and sensitivity are not traded off, and you don’t have to be an expert to get the best results. With just nanoliters of material injected, ZipChip can usually provide excellent analyte separations in 3 minutes. A mass spectrometer can now study big molecules in their entire, near-native states and provide useful molecular information on each species found. ZipChip is a microfluidic device that completely combines electrospray ionization (ESI) with capillary electrophoresis (CE). This removes the “dead volumes” that are typical of conventional capillary-based techniques as well as failure-prone connections between distinct components. Fast separations are the end product, with no failure points, band broadening, or lost time.
